Richard Krawchuk Wolf Plaque Painted.
Richard Krawchuk's carvings are renowned for their superior craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. Drawing on his Coast Salish and Ukrainian heritage, Krawchuk creates pieces that pay homage to local animals and indigenous folklore. Each stunning masterpiece showcases skillfully-carved animals including eagles, bears, and wolves, as well as figures of Chiefs and Welcome men. Meticulously handcrafted from yellow cedar and adorned with acrylic paint, these pieces measure 10" x 3.5" x 1".
Richard was born in 1957 on the Cheekeye reserve. He is a member of the Coast Sailish nation. Trained by Floyd and Chester Joseph he began carving at age 23, he carves traditional Coast Sailish designs and is currently living in Langley B.C.
