Tree frogs can be found during daylight hours attached to the underside of leaves with their bright eyes closed and colorful markings concealed. When disturbed, they flash their bulging red eyes and reveal their huge, webbed orange feet and bright blue-and-yellow flanks which startle the nighttime predators. Defense mechanisms specifically designed to provide a precious instant for the frog to spring to safety.
