This festive box called "The Winter has come..." has been painted by a talented Fedoskino artist Kolmogorova Svetlana. This is actually a tandem of wife and husband-the Komogorovs family: Svetlana and Konstantin.
The scene is painted in bright oil paints to create a festal mood. Shining pieces of gold metal leaf that can be found in the costume of "Lady Winter".
The edges of the lid are adorned with a wide gold band.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title, and the village of Fedoskino on the box's exterior bottom. Approx size 5"x3.5"x 1.25".
