Product Overview

This is a story written in 1816 by Prussian author E. T. A. Hoffmann, in which young Marie Stahlbaum's favorite Christmas toy, the Nutcracker, comes alive and, after defeating the evil Mouse King in battle, whisks her away to a magical kingdom populated by dolls. In 1892, the Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreographers Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov turned Alexandre Dumas's adaptation of the story into the ballet The Nutcracker.

A very large (12 inches tall and 7 inches wide), beautifully carved and painted Santa Claus. Rich red base coat with an incredible amount of detail work. He is a very happy Santa with friendly blue eyes. Extremely well done in every aspect. This Russian Santa is completely hand carved from solid linden wood.  Unique, hand-crafted Santa is a one of a kind work of art. Artist Natalia Trifonova. Signed by the artist.
