Product Overview
This originally shaped box is a creation of Alla Kozlova from the village of Fedoskino. She is a very popular Fedoskino artist, and her unique boxes are readily acquired by collectors from different countries. Its shows Snowmaiden. The composition also includes the images of various animals: a deer, a fox and birds.
Mother-of-pearl shines through the figures of the characters. Gold powder highlights the Snowmaiden's kokoshnik. Aluminum powder highlights the characters' figures, the rabbits, and the birds. Gold metal leaf is used to decorate the characters' costumes, and also to detail the fox's fur.
The box's exterior is covered with lacquer that tones with the gray-bluish palette of the scene. Its interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top, and the box rests on a flat bottom. Approx. 2.75"x2.75"x2".
