Product Overview
This lacquer miniature shows the Snowmaiden strolling in the forest and feeding birds. The palette incorporates blue and white oils as the action takes place in winter, with addition of gold and silver metal paints to give a feeling of magic and splendor. The scene is framed with a gold band. Miniature painted on the Mother-of-pearl background.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened from the left of the composition, and the box rests flat. The work is signed by the artist. Approx. 4"x3"x1.25".
