Product Overview
A pair of antique Russian lacquer buttons produced by an unknown maker circa late 19th century. The paintings are of a man and woman in peasant traditional clothing. The man plays a balalaika and the woman is dancing. Each button is approx. 1" diameter. Traditional papier mache button tops with metal fasteners attached on the backs. There are no maker's marks. Both buttons are in excellent condition with normal crazing of the lacquer surface due to age. This does not affect the integrity of the lacquer or the painting.
