Product Overview
This festive box is a real specimen of traditional Fedoskino artistry! The box is painted by a well-known Master, Olga Zayakina.
It features the lad playing the accordion, another lad and a pretty girl are dancing at the village street. In old times the lad who could play accordion was one of the popular young men in the Russian village. Girls dream of having a date with him, and lads respected him. Singing and dancing to the accompaniment of accordion and balalayka were the only available amusements then.
The clothes and dresses of the girls and lads are richly decorated with the golden paint!
The scene is framed with a gold floral pattern. The box's sides are adorned with a rich pattern painted in gold.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged to the left of the composition, and the box rests on the flat bottom.
Signed with the artist's name and Fedoskino. Approx size 6"x4"x1.5".
