This is a fine example of Native Alaskan art. This seal claw is mounted on a carved piece of walrus ivory figurine of a puffin.
Seal claws are traditionally harvested by Native Alaskans for cultural, traditional and subsistence purposes. The claws are used in crafting, jewelry making and ceremonial items, playing an important role in Native Alaskan heritage and art.
