Native American Yupik Woven Basket Kipnuk - Hand Woven Basket

This is a wonderful vintage Hooper bay Native American Yupik Alaskan woven lidded basket, traditional grass weave, geometric design. Artist unknown. This small weave lidded basket is woven from wild rye beach grass (taperrnat).  It is decorated with a complex geometric design of blue, red and green dyed seal gut. It is expertly woven, tightly coiled, symmetrical and well balanced. It is 6 ¾” high by 16 ¾” in circumference. It is in excellent condition C. 1970's
