Native American Alaskan Yupik Basket - Hand Woven Basket

This is a wonderful vintage Hooper bay Native American Yupik Alaskan woven unlidded basket, traditional grass weave, geometric design. This medium weave lidded basket is woven from wild rye beach grass (taperrnat).  It is decorated with a complex geometric design of red and black dyed grass. It is expertly woven, tightly coiled, symmetrical and well balanced. It is 10” high by 11.5" in diameter. It is in excellent condition.
