The narwhal carving with its tusk made of baleen, and decorated with baleen dots is mounted on a piece of walrus ivory with a baleen divider between ivory top and a seal claw is made by indigenous Alaskan artist - Stanley Oozeva of Gambell, Alaska, a small Siberian Yup'ik Eskimo village of about 700 people on St. Lawrence Island.
