Made of fine linden wood, this piece is hand carved in Sergiev Posad, where the The Center of the Russian Orthodox Church is located and woodcarving is hundreds of years old... The tradition descends from the Russian Orthodox celebrations of Saint Nicholas, the miracle-worker and secret gift-giver.
