Product Overview
This articulated and intricate design from our jelly fish jewelry collection features free moving silver and rainbow moonstone tentacles suspended from carved ancient ivory jelly fish bodies. The jellies' bells are carved from fossilized walrus ivory, a luminous material that is some 500 to 3,000 years old. The earth has colored this natural ivory in caramel and cocoa hues, and it is valued across the world for the quality it lends to jewelry and fine artisan crafts. Native peoples gather our fossilized walrus ivory after erosion has brought it back to the light as they have for centuries. This fossilized ivory is an important part of their economy and livelihood.
