This elegant box is an original creation of the outstanding Fedoskino artist, Boris Shavyrin. On the box's lid the artist has drawn a beautiful night butterfly fairy with fragile, transparent wings. The scene is painted on black background.
The sides of the box have paintings of small flowers. Very detailed work!
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and Fedoskino. Approx. 6.25"x3"x2".
