Product Overview
This traditional work from the village of Kholui shows the radiant red Firebird, probably about to pluck golden apples from the Tsar's orchard! The firebird glitters with golden accents throughout its wings. This scene is framed with an intricate gold pattern. The sides of the box are painted with firebird feathers and golden ornamentation.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.The artist wrote her name, Kholui, and the title - "Firebird" Approx. 3"x3"x2.75".
