A very large (18 inches tall and 8 inches wide), beautifully carved and painted Santa Claus. Rich burgundy base coat with an incredible amount of detail work and shading of leaves, flowers, snowflakes. His coat and regal hat are beautifully detailed in raised filigree in a multitude of colors, gold trimmed leaves and white pearlescent accents set upon burgundy and gold base. The back of Santa's frosted white and gold, fur trimmed coat is painted in burgundy with equally impressive and elegant detailing and iridescent gold highlights that come to life with changing light. He holds a gold staff in one hand and two birds in the other.
He is a very happy Santa with friendly blue eyes. Extremely well done in every aspect. This Russian Santa is completely hand carved from solid linden wood. Unique, museum quality from head to toe, hand-crafted Santa is a one of a kind work of art signed by the artist Nikitina.
This Santa also has a separate standing decorated Christmas tree that accompanies the Santa.
