Scenic Russian Santa with winter troika scene. This beautiful Grandfather Frost with scenes from a winter's day in the Russian countryside is hand carved and hand painted in Russia. Snow covered village with a church painted on the back side of this Santa. Stands approx. 9.25" tall. This great Santa holds a large decorated Christmas tree in one hand and a staff in the other. The troika is a lucky winter symbol, and is often seen in Russian lore and poetry. Signed by the artist - Vladimir Shestobansky.
