This gorgeous lacquer miniature was painted by a talented artist Boris Shavirin.The composition shows a scene from a Tale of Frog Princess- the Feast when the Frog turned into a beautiful lady and made the best food and entertain the guests with a nice dance.
Several pieces of mother-of pearl can be found in this box. Green one is shining through a dress of the princess, one more from the wing of the swan (to the left) and another-from the skies on the background.
The box's sides are imitated the color of brown marble. The interior is covered with red lacquer, exterior is painted black. The painting is framed with with a gold band, which goes on the edge of the lid.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
