Product Overview
This elegant box is an original creation of the outstanding Fedoskino artist, Boris Shavyrin. On the box's lid the artist has drawn butterflies hovering over the Bellflowers. The scene is painted against the light blue background surrounded with black background.
The fragile, transparent wings of the butterflies are detailed with pieces of mother-of-pearl. Several pieces of mother-of-pearl are shining through the painting. The sides of the box have paintings of different plants. Very detailed work!
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and Fedoskino. Approx. 6.25"x3"x2".
