This is a wonderful vintage Native American Yupik Alaskan woven lidded basket.This large weave lidded basket is woven from wild rye beach grass (taperrnat). It is decorated with complex geometric designs of purple and red dyed grass. It is expertly woven, tightly coiled, symmetrical and well balanced. It is 12” high by 39” in circumference. It is in excellent condition. C.1950's.
