Product Overview
An Aleut tightly twined storage basket crafted from rye grass with multiple open rows. Embroidered floral accents in red, orange, blue, and green are accented with stripes in soft turquoise and yellow; a matching flat-topped lid with polychrome finial finishes off the piece. The straight sides and almost right-angle at the bottom edge lend evidence to the Attu people, or those previously inhabiting the westernmost island in Alaska's Aleutian chain. Attributed to Doris Krukeft and measures approximately 3.5" in diameter x 4" tall.
