Product Overview
This box is painted with a traditional winter scene of a troika (three-horse sleigh) racing through the snow with some Russian architecture in the background. This is one of the most popular Russian scenes, representing winter fun, youthful attitude, and happy holidays . The painting is framed with a large gold band.
The sides of the box are covered with a mixture of a blue with gray colors, that imitates a color of a blue marble.
The box is made out of paper-mache made. Black lacquer covers the exterior's bottom and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the composition and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino. Approximately 6" x 4.5" x 1.25" .
